No. They just put your new address into their computer. It is your responsibility to inform your contacts of your new address .

One go to the post office and speak to the post master. Anyone who said that she could put a change of address in for some place they do not live is either a moron or didnt want to do the paperwork...

Go to any United States Post Office branch and ask for a " Change of Address Form".
