Type in what you want then hold the control key down and hit enter and it will fill in the www and the . com This only works for a . com not for anything else.

Sounds like phishing. Scan your computer for malware/spyware then try typing in facebook. com , or, go to a search engine and type in facebook and the main site should come up at the top, click on that and it should take you to the real site.

Logically if you want to go to certain website, you will need to key in the complete address. For example, web. com and web.org are different website. So if you omit the extension, it can make confusion

99% of the time u don't have to type www but u always have to type . com because there is no way that a browser can know what address u are looking for ...
