It's a really nice gaming Laptop and will play Minecraft and Skyrim on high settings. And since it's got 16GB of RAM, you'll be able to record your games at the same time.

Tablets/phones are always going to be crap/subpar to consoles/PC's. If you're going to spend the money on that, might as well look into something like an alienware x51.

It'd run most games on medium to low settings. That gpu (the GT 640) isn't a card meant for gaming, it's more a medium-low end consumer card.

the 7200rpm will have a faster transfer speed, but may generate more heat and consume more power. The difference can be noticeable but it's not huge. It will mostly affect load times and application start-up.
