SSD have lower power requirements, but have serious issues with fragmentation over time resulting is significant slowdowns. They also have been known to have a higher failure rate... are also more expensive. All of these issues wil improve over time as the developers get better at designing them, but for right now, I would stick to the standard platter drive .

Well, with SSD on any SATA will give you a performance boost, but to get the best result... with only the applications you have loaded on to the SSD IIRC
