your motherboard probably only supports one or two gens. see what it supports and get the newer. also, try to get a quad-core one for gaming and video.

Not really. The i3 processor and 1TB HDD would tend to slow things down. Ideally you need a core i5 or i7 and an SSD rather than an HDD.
