People still believe the stuff in the bible so it's not completely necessary to be a sci-fi writer. It would probably be difficult to convince as many people as the bible has but the bible is still fiction and people would kill to defend it.

They are both more accurately placed in the "Fantasy" genre rather than Sci-Fi! Revelations is however the least credible of the two.
