Samsung is generally faster and easier to install than the M4 but it's reputation isn't...have a less than 10% chance of failure so that's not really a good way to gauge it). I'd go with the Samsung if you can get it cheaper if not go for the Crucial, but keep in mind Crucial M4...

That's a really old drive. When did you buy it, like 2008? That being said, download SSD Magician 2.0 off the Samsung website and try to run the OS Optimization function.
