put the broccoli in a perforated pan and set it over boiling water to steam to bright green. Or you could put it in a microwave dish with a little water, cover with plastic wrap and cook it for 2 min. or until bright green

If it broke the thin perforated metal "net" that is usually fused to the glass, then no, it is not safe, microwave energy will escape through the hole and cook whatever is in front of the door
