The nail polish remover removed the finish, so you need to repair the finish. Depending on how deeply your mark went, you will have to refinish the surface that much.

Honestly, you're going to need to sand and re-paint/stain. The mark didn't add anything that can be removed; it stripped away either paint or sealant, so you can't do anything but cover it or reseal.
