Just tighten it up from the bottom. You didn't say if it was a single lever or not so you may need a basin wrench to get up between the sink and the wall. If possible, have someone hold the faucet so it will be even when you have it tight.

You can install a single spout faucet if you desire. When you go to purchase a new faucet it will come with a cover... of products on the market. I would suggest you go to the " Faucet Store" (any home center or hardware store) or search on line for the new look...
