Stay in the Gulf it much prettier then the Atlantic.If you looking for a resort try the Marriott sand key its beauiful the views are the best around a little pricy but worth every penny.

Actually, the gulf of mexico is called "the emerald coast" because of its distinct green color. It's not very blue at all.
