Take it to a tech, it could be a dead battery or charger, faulty power circuit and the screen needs replacing.

firstly some obvious reasons. a pc mic is a condenser mic that is very low power and does not need a power supply. a professional mic will always need a power supply it can still be a condenser mic but it needs a supply and will have shielded cables so it wont be a normal lead/cable...

I have built more computers than I can remember (probably in excess of a hundred) without ever using an anti-static strap. Just ground yourself on a doorknob or something before touching the computer.
