It's illegal to use on the roads because it doesn’t meet the emissions regulations and crash test. You can own one, put it in showroom, use it as a race car or drag car , just not use it on the road.

Yes, BUT you have to consider damage to the chassis. That may require extensive repairs that only a qualified shop can perform. You cannot simply unbolt pieces of the unibody and swap them.
