Bare just means that it doesn't come with the manual, or the cables, or any of that kind of stuff. The drive itself should be exactly the same as a non- bare model.

bare drives are not retail boxed and sometimes don't have the same warranty that retail drives do, but i have used hundreds of bare drives and had no issues.
