This is a 4.3L TBI, so the TPS is located on the opposite side of the throttle body from the throttle linkage. It is usually black and has three wires going to it.

They are not the same. Your description of the IAC is correct and saddlers description of the TPS is correct.

New parts at Autozone and other places CAN be defective even if they are new. Trade it in for a new one. (the TPS , not the car ..lol) They usually have good warranties.

take tps off clean tip with carb cleaner and finger replace turn key over several times without starting and then start. Sometimes this will reset TPS .

I might be wrong, but I don't think you can actually adjust the TPS , it only will go in one way and if you have the correct one it should sit in there perfectly. Sorry cant help more.

Sounds to me that you still have a problem with the TPS . Check your wiring. Solder your connections.
