if you leave that engine the way that it is, you will feel a weakness. you increase compression ratio by replacing the lower end like the crank shaft and pistons. valves have nothing to do with it. they can improve an engines ability to breath but that is it.

Yes and no. You probably don't need any. If the car starts and runs, take if for a good run. That should help clean any of the injectors. Replacing the fuel also helps. Many of the newer cars all have excellent fuel line...

I am not familiar with this machine but,if it has a clutch release lever then there is probably an adjustment in the linkage.If it is a centrifugal clutch that engages when the engine speed increases then you have a part problem.
