You can steam themogether. Make sure the pieces are of similar size and shape so they will get done together.

Yep, lid on is a must! The steam is still forced "up," but also forced into the vegetables rather than allowed to escape! Also, a bit of wine adds a nice taste to them too!

I bought a metal basket for a buck at Marcs, it goes in the bottom of your pot and then you add the veggies. Fresh or frozen. It keeps them off the bottom of your pot. Add a little water and there you go...
