I would roast. Roasting caramelizes the sugars and brings out a great deal of flavor. Steamed aubergine sound pretty bland and frankly, gross.

Styrofoam melts when it is heated. Odds are that the carton would dissolve long before the eggs were cooked. The fumes from melting Styrofoam are toxic.

it won't help them not rot. but will help you eat them. if they are not yet rotten they are still good to be used! even if they are just a little soft. like a little.. if they start to liquidify then it's best to move on to something else!

Put a lid on the pan when cooking eggs, the steam will cook the top of the eggs, so you don't have to flip them over to cook.
