Owners manual section 2 Page #4 says rear window and rear view mirror defroster (if equipped) the center push button on the A/C mode control switch. So there must be a very basic model with out heated rear glass.

The Subaru, definitely. A safe, reliable, all weather car. We are on our second Subaru and intend on replacing it with another when the time comes. Good mileage and no worries.
