Yes it will grow back but this is more than play when it gets that heavy and it isn't good for things to get this out of hand. It will affect your dogs temperament.

YOU have control over him, your dog doesn't own you, so set a time limit, depending on how much YOU want to do it or have time for each day. Maybe 20 minutes? 10 minutes? Enough for him to get exercise.
