They have a sweeter flavor, and also, have more water content when reduced during cooking, but I dont see why not.

Drain, rinse, mash, mix in equal amount of shredded cheese, up to 1/2 cup chopped green chile and heat and stir til they are all melted together. Spread on tortilla or toast. mix into some chile con carne and rice and serve with cornbread

pies first or even the night before---then the turkey-then the casserole--the meat should "rest" anyway--and then you can de-stuff it and finally carve it--while the casserole cooks-all the other stuff is stove top-so no worries there!
