  1. did you remove the screws on the top part of the unit. it should have a label on it saying to remove the screws, if not try to gently remove the cd with a butter knife, but dont shove the whole knife in it. i dont think it has anything to do with the wiring. or you may just have a faulty unit

  6. heard many complaints about that unit. Alpine is great but sometimes one of their units will consistantly fail... i'd contact alpine about it and see if they can fix... also, check to see if there is a reset button in the front area, sometimes that will help.

  8. In some of those Chevy's you have to cut (or break) some of the plastics behind the radio so it can slide back further. No big deal.
