  1. HB2 is a pencil used for professional drawing that has ... darker. I don't know what a #2 would be equivalent too, but an HB2 is definitely softer and darker than a #2.

  7. Rule of thumb is, the higher the B grade (2B,4B,6B) the softer and darker the lead is. Those leads are good for life drawing as they allow for you to go from light to dark quickly and encourage more line expression...
