Get your car re-keyed ASAP. If you have a newer BMW with EWS (BMW's electronic theft protection) it is going to be expensive.

There are several charges that apply: Cost of key Cutt charge Then the key has to be programmed by the dealer to match it to the EWS anti-theft system. Figure at least $100

Tow the car to your local dealer with the registration paper work and a simple reflashing the vehicle with the proper software will take care of the problem. (The DME and EWS controllers) HTH

Others would want to do a full time job of stealing BMW cars and not just during the weekend. Perhaps it would be better if you mention the problem and not just ask for ways to circumvent the EWS/antitheft.
