Not sure about insurance , but cost of ownership / resale value / maintenace / Gas Milage and the civic wins hands down! Civic is deffinatley the better of those 2 choices! Chris

Out of that list I would get number 5, the mazda 3. Insurance is up to you and where you live, that factors into the price.

The only way to find out is to call your insurance agent and ask them. But if the cars are similarly priced and equipped the same there should be very little difference in rates.
